Renault Master 2019 facelift

In September 2019, Renault begins selling the much more attractive Master, which incorporates not only a new front look but also a completely revised cab interior.

Complete production begins in July 2019 but was first processed in June 2019.

The modifications to the front intentionally seek to make them look like a truck, which, according to Renault, will make customers think it is tougher. As such, the grille is now not only decorated with chrome but is also more vertical, with a larger and higher bonnet.

These modifications also help the engines breathe better, contributing to their compliance with Euro 6D Temp (or Euro VID for very heavy-duty versions).

In the meantime, the new interior is a lot smarter and more stylish than before, and while standard safety equipment doesn't increase much, there are at least more options.

As part of this update, the number of major variants available has been significantly reduced to 99 different models. In part, this is an effort to reduce non-marketable models, in part to help buyers choose the master that best suits their needs and partly to regulate emissions.

Body sizes and variants

The Master Panel van range is available in four lengths and three body heights, with the option of towing or rear-wheel drive. It offers very competitive levels of space and payload as well as a choice of powerful turbo diesel engines.

There is also the all-electric Renault Master ZE, which goes on sale at the end of 2018.

The cab is spacious, comfortable and seemingly built with durable materials. Just a little bumpy ride can disappoint you on long journeys, even if it stabilizes quite a bit once you gain weight behind you.

You also have many standard features for your money, with the latest versions in the choice of Business and Business + specifications.

Rivals

Its closest rivals may be the Citroen Relay / Peugeot Boxer / Fiat Ducato trio, though most 2014 Ford Transit buyers will be at the top of their shopping list.

Vauxhall Movano and Nissan NV400 are alternate versions of Master, and Renault has built them in France for its brands.
